Estimate: £55,000-£65,000
AUCTION DATE:

- A very nicely presented, top-specification 3.8-litre "S" model
- One of just 150 3.8 "S" FHCs built
- Comprehensively restored in 2002
Finished in British Racing Green with green leather upholstery, this very nicely presented right-hand drive, 3.8-litre XK150 S Fixed-Head Coupé is one of just 150 built and benefits from a complete inside and outside refurbishment completed in 2002, which included new leather and trim, with much of the brightwork restored as well. During the restoration, the engine was removed, completely stripped and cleaned. It was rebuilt by XRN in Bracknell, Berkshire, who re-bored the cylinder block, reground the camshafts and added a new oil pump, timing chain and rear oil thrower.
The car retains its original matching-numbers cylinder block and has been converted to permit the use of unleaded fuel. Other improvements include the addition of an 'Ignitor' electronic ignition system, a larger-bore stainless-steel exhaust and a new clutch and gearbox. This exceedingly rare XK150 S is also complete with original registration documents, green and buff logbooks dating back to 1960 and an original Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook.

1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 S Fixed Head Coupé
One of Only 150 Motorcars Produced: Correct Matching Numbers
Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmission & PAS
In 2012 this beautifully presented XK150 was subject to a 100-point body-off restoration by Aston Works Service Heritage Centre at Newport Pagnell. The brief was to fully restore the car to a "better than new" factory finish but also to make improvements to enhance its usability in modern traffic conditions; automatic transmission, power steering and air condition were part of the project overview and fitted to this car. A detailed report of the restoration works is presented in the history file along with a comprehensive documented history including MOT's dating back to 1973, original registration documents and handbook.
This extremely rare XK150 has just been fully serviced by marque specialists and is ready to be enjoyed as a modern day usable classic.
Price £245,000.00

Note in the photo of the data plate there is a second non original data plate that suggests the car's Chassis No. is S836898BW. The meaning of the alternate Chassis No. isn't known but bears investigation.
