Indeed, additional information Wayne has provided on his site.

Built 29 February 1960, RHD, S-model with a 3 carburettor engine as used in the Series 1 E-Type, fitted with Laycock de Normanville overdrive. One of sixty three drophead coupes with this engine. Distributed through Henleys of London, dispatched to South Africa on 12 March 1960. Owned by a Mr. Van Rensburg in Zambia, it is understoof that he was given the car (together with a Rolls-Royce and a Ford Model T) to settle a debt. All three cars were later taken to South Africa. The Jaguar then passed onto his son, Dr. Rene van Rensburg, who had some restoration work done by John Bird. The car was then taken over by Mr. Raubenheimer, who had the restoration completed.

Seller's description:

This 1960 Jaguar XK 150 3.8S DRC is now offered for Sale. It is an extremely rare car, one of only 89 DHC 3.8S’s ever produced. Less than half of those would have been right hand drive.

The car came from Zambia and was kept in Lyttleton, Centurion, (Pretoria) for a very long time

The previous owner gave this car to John Bird to restore.

But he didn’t finish it. According to John it was a very good car to start off with.

It was finally done by somebody in the Western Cape.

There are lots and lots of photos of the restoration process.

The current owner bought it in 2013, and it has been looked after by us here at Route 101 Classic Car Centre. The engine bay was tidied up and the car was resprayed in its original color, new spoke wheels were fitted.

The interior was re-upholstered and new carpeting fitted.

The car comes with its original tool set complete, the original jack comse with the car but is broken.

The car is an absolute joy to drive with, oil pressure close to 50psi – when hot.

The car has been entered into 3 Jag Concourses.

It came first in the XK section in 2 of them and 2nd in one.

This car is in an excellent condition. This is a matching numbers car, including the gearbox. This car has a British Heritage Certificate.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
