At online auction closing 12/26/2018
bringatrailer.com/listing/1959-jaguar-xk150-s-3-4-roaster/
This 1959 Jaguar XK150 S Open Two Seater is finished in cream over red leather and is one of 888 built. Power is from a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six that retains its matching-numbers cylinder head and is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The car was delivered in September 1959 to its first owners, who were residents of Baltimore, Maryland. The second owner reportedly kept the car from 1962 until 2009, when it was purchased by the seller. This XK150 S is being offered in Ohio with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, owner’s handbook and supplement, tonneau cover, fold-out Jaguar XK150 maintenance chart, and a Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
This car was originally delivered in its current color combination according to the heritage certificate, but the cream finish is said to have been reapplied in the 1960s. Original paint reportedly remains in the engine compartment. Some scuffs are noted in the paint behind the seats and shown in the photo gallery below, as are paint imperfections in various other areas. The seller points out rust on the underside of both doors that could be softened patchwork. Rust is also noted around the inside edges of the trunk. Detailed photos of these areas are provided.
The interior features red leather upholstery, carpeting, and door panels that are shown in detail in the gallery and are believed to be original to the car.
