One of only three cars built in April 1959. There are only 14 later cars of this model known to
still exist. Many at this time had "S" spec engines - has this one?

Ebay item 6/7/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-150S-OTS-1959-JAGUAR-XK-150S-ROADSTER-MATCHING ...
Current bid $22,300 reserve pricenot met, 3 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1. The seats shown in this ad are clearly not original. The original Jaguar seats DO come with the car BUT ARE IN VERY POOR CONDITION.
2. Many people are not familiar with the Racing Mechanical Overdrives as they are quite RARE and were only fitted on XK 150 Roadsters (OTS). Jaguar at the time sent out a special Service Bulletin (SB) 263 in April 1959 to all its worldwide dealers announcing the change from electric to mechanical overdrives:

SB 263 - Apr 59: Overdrive manual operation: Commencing - / 831963 (OTS), the mechanically operated overdrive was fitted. "The operating lever is mounted forward of the normal gearshift lever and will only allow the overdrive to operate on top gear." Pull lever back to engage OD, forward to go to top from OD. Automatic disengagement if gear is changed from top to 3rd."

I have owned this car since the mid 1970s. In 1981 at a cost of £1480 (a lot of money back then) the engine was rebuilt by the late Ron Beaty in the United Kingdom who at the time was without doubt the world's best and greatest Jaguar engine rebuilder.

The car has 16,000 miles since the rebuild. The car starts, runs and drives PURRRRRFECTLY. In 2009 the hydraulics, brake rotors, brake calipers, master cylinders were renewed and a new top was added at total cost of approx $7000. It can be driven anywhere in its present condition but will require a new set of 15 Inch tubeless radial tires. The car is located in MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA.

PROBLEMS, RUST ETC.
* Clearly the car has rust in the usual places. The worst rust area is in the floor-boards behind the seats
* Presently both doors do not close properly and are being secured with straps from the inside. This appears to be mainly due to a combination of worn locking mechanism, misaligned doors and worn door hinges from age, 50 years of wear and tear etc.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
