This is my vehicle. It was originally purchased by my uncle in 1950 or maybe 1951, largely to impress the women I think, which apparently worked because the car payments were taken over by my grand father (quite soon after my uncle was married in about 1955). In about 1977 another uncle purchased it from my grand father and I bought it following a family reunion in about 2000 after my uncle mentioned that it was to be sold. It was painted white after an accident with a taxi in around 1960 and I am currently negotiating a respray back to something like the original birch grey. Engine was rebuilt in about 1980 and it is probably due for another. A new original wiring harness was fitted around this time too. It has never been unregistered since purchase however is now on its third set of plates. Originally ASS-xxx then later was AWE-xxx and is now IXK-120. Registration is due today which was my mum's birthday. It is currently in basically original condition other than a set of blinkers, a screw on oil filter conversion and a thermo fan having been fitted. All numbers match, though I am not sure about the gearbox. The original is either the one in it or the other one that came with the car when I bought it. I will be looking at rechroming all the shiny bits and also having the upholstery being redone as well, provided I can find a good local upholsterer. I may even upgrade a few other things though I'm not sure yet.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
