I have owned this car since Dec 1970, It is my 3rd 120 & my 5th XK. Never rebuilt, but well & lovingly maintained. I have fitted wire wheels, changed the body colour & reupholstered. Registration/licence number (Vic) XK120. Originally purchased by the late/great Bib Stillwell Nov 1950.

Car now offered at:

classicthrottleshop.com/1950-jaguar-xk120-ots-bib-stillwell/

Seller's description:

Ivory | Roadster | 4 Speed Manual | 3.4 litre inline 6 Cylinder | Chassis Number 660165 | AU$199,995

Delivered new on the 15th November 1950 to Bib (Bermak) Stillwell in Birch Grey with Biscuit and Red Duo leather trim and a French Grey soft top for the princely sum of one thousand five hundred and eighty six pounds (Australian).

This early XK 120 was campaigned early on in its life and its first outing was at Rob Roy in Victoria on January 29th 1951 where it beat three other XK120 and set a new class record. Not bad for a new car just months old.

Now almost 70 years on this wonderfully patinated XK120 is still going strong and wears its age with style.

Still retaining its original 3.4 litre, matching engine, this superb old car is in what can only be described as well used but well-loved condition.

Now set up to do classic rallying with competition modifications, which include:

• Sandcast SU Carburettors with correct inlet manifold

• Correct Competition Aero screens and cowlings

• Correct Competition mirror cowling

• Front disc brake conversion (Willwood)

• Stainless Steel Fab Speed twin exhaust system

• High output Thermo Fan kit

• Willians Full Harness’s X2

• Leather bonnet strap (not fitted)

• Spot lights

• Wire wheels (Upgraded HD spec) in powder coated satin black

This wonderful old XK is no concours show pony. The paint is blistered and cracked, the carpets are a bit thread bare in places and the leather has a great worn look. However it has a very appealing charm about it and has had lots of money lavished on it over the years, so much so that the previous owner kept it for 42 years!

With the full history of the car in the superb XK120 in Australia book by John Elmgreen and Terry McGrath it represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire an early matching numbers car.

The car comes with all its original parts removed from it over the years including wheels brakes, carburettors and cylinder head.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
