This 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster was purchased by the present owner in 1972 and has not done much more than 10000 miles since then.
During his ownership the car has been maintained regardless of cost and the engine, the gearbox, the rear axle and the brakes have all been totally rebuilt. Originally the car was on its standard pressed steel wheels with rear wheel spats but that was changed and it now has chrome wire wheels. The bodywork is finished in Old English White and the interior trim is red Connolly leather throughout and it is fitted with a new double duck hood and side screens.
In the history of ownership there is evidence of it being placed first and third in concours events at Beaulieu and other various meetings and although little used it is currently MOT'd and taxed until March 2000.
This is a most sought after early car which will be very keenly contested at the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
