Chassis No 660535, manufactured Jan 1951 and the second OTS XK120 sold new by Archibalds, Christchurch in April '51 for 1,645 pounds. See car no 19 on photo 3.
First owner Brian Little, farmer of Nth Canty, believed to have run the XK at Lady Wigram Cup in 1952, coming 6th, and at various other competition events at Levels, Renwick, Invermay & Dunedin Road Race. Subsequent owners were resident at Wigram Airbase and thought to have also campaigned the car until mid '60's.
Presented in race trim incl twin 2" SU's, ported head, extractors, XK150 front discs, Le Mans fuel cap, aero screens, period Lucas driving lights, 16" wires with radial tyres. All parts incl to return the car to std trim, ie steel wheels, side spats, windscreen. Hood, tonneau cover, side curtains and tools all in average cond.
Current owner 11yrs, ran the car at the Wigram Revival meeting at Ruapuna Nov '10, Hawkswood Sprint Nov '10 winning the inaugural Ray Archibald Trophy, and Skope Classic Feb '11. Maintained mid '70's to now by ChCh based period XK racer, Dave Silcock.
This is a well-known NZ new XK with excellent history, and ready for fast touring or further competition events.
Total mileage unknown.

In response to regular questions;
1. No, there's no sign of rust anywhere on the car.
2. Yes, the numbers on the engine block and head match factory records.
3. The Moss 'box is very easy to use, with good synchros and no bearing noise.
4. The engine is not 'cammy' at all to drive around town, and is very tractable in all conditions.
5. Condition is not concours, but a good tidy every day driver with no known expenditure looming.
