    670006 was shipped to Charles Hornburg (USA) 8/49 and was broken up in California in the 1970s. The remains were sold to John May in the UK.

    I have the original gearbox from this car.
    The chassis survived in california with a V8 fitted and a later steel body and it is the chassis only that made it's way to a car dealer in the UK. Body bits from other alloy cars that have had new bodies fitted have been added to the project. But certainly no original motor or gearbox

    the bodyshell pictured in this listing dated march 2006 was advertised on EBAY listing no 130263682340 and was sold 30 october 2008 for 7,700 euros from Alkmaar netherlands to a buyer in Switzerland.
    one of the questions asked was
    "V Hi is there a body numer? Simon what chassis did it come from?"
    "A Hi to prevent mixed up cars with double identities we are not able to give you any info on numbers" !!!!
    Anyway it is now clear that the body is/was presumably from 670006 which presumably is getting a complete new body but now of course there is the potential of an alloy 120 being created from this original bodyshell !
    Has anyone further details on this car or the shell

    hi, i can see the obvious problem with cars being broken up and the parts going to the four corners of the world (when they weren't worth much) but what are we regarding as being the legitimate car.? the chassis has a number stamped on it ,but there is rather less ID on a bodyshell. surely the keeper of the chassis frame is the rightful owner? i realise that faking a chassis is pretty easy too! what if you only have a collection of panels? (this is quite common)
    ps just asking for clarification
