Ebay item 1/24/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-120-Roadster-Two-Jaguar-XK-120-Roadsters-with- ...
Opneing bid $28,000, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Here is a rare opportunity to acquire two Jaguar XK 120 Roadsters, one dated 1952 and the other 1953.

Both cars are in need of restoration but are in very sound condition having been in dry storage for many years.

One of the cars has had all of its metalwork professionally completed and has very minor surface rust to the new panel work, which can be removed with a light sandblasting.

The other car has been sandblasted and painted in primer. The panel work on this car is original and in surprisingly good condition. There appears to be no or very little welding required to this car.

Both cars have their original engine, gearbox, rear axle and various parts which were stripped from the cars as restoration began. The car in gray primer has pressed steel wheels but also comes with a set of 5 wire wheels and new spinners.

Thousand of dollars were spent on replacement new parts purchased from Guy Broad, the Jaguar specialist in England, and these are also included in the auction. The new parts are far too numerous to list but include a beautiful new red leather upholstered interior, aluminum petrol tank and stainless exhaust. All the necessary parts are included to restore one of the cars with many additional parts for the second car.

List of major new parts included
Red leather interior
Newly re-chromed windshield pillars
Aluminum fuel tank
Stainless steel exhaust
Wiring harness
Grill
Bumpers
Bumper irons
Door Handles
Various other chrome parts
Headlamps and tail lamps
Wooden boot/trunk frame
Mirrors
Wheel spinners
Front fender spears
Regulator Box
Fuse Box
Track rod ends
Wiper Wheel Boxes
Head lights
Tail lights
Side lights
Side light housings
Petrol filler box
Instrument panel
Wooden floor boards
Pistons & rings
Various other new parts too many to list

Reconditioned Parts
Steering Wheel
Horns
Fuel Pump
Distributor
I would estimate that the cost of the new parts exceeds the starting price on this auction.

I think you will find this was built in 1954 probably March not 1952

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
