This 1952 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe was produced in March 1952 and originally distributed in the US by Charles Hornburg of Los Angeles. It is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual gearbox, and it underwent a color change to its present black-on-black scheme under prior ownership. Equipment includes 16″ wire wheels, driving lights, dual carburetors, and tinted sun visors. This XK120 was acquired by the seller in December 2020 and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, repair manuals, spare parts, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Washington State title in the seller’s name.
Delivered from the factory in British Racing Green, the car was repainted black under prior ownership. Features include a split windshield, an A-pillar-mounted antenna, split chrome front bumpers, driving lights, wing-mounted chrome side mirrors, fender air vent doors, a lockable fuel-filler door, and rear bumperettes. The rear wheel skirts are not present, and dents and scratches can be seen up close.
Silver-finished 16” wire wheels wear knock-off spinners and are mounted with Garfield whitewall tires. A spare is stored in the trunk.
The cabin underwent an upholstery color change from the factory Suede Green to black under prior ownership, and salt-and-pepper carpeting covers the rear shelf and floor. The car is equipped with tinted sun visors and a burl wood dashboard with a missing map box. The battery box cover and storage compartment are missing, and wear on the seats and holes in the driver-seat cushion and outboard bolster can be seen.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a reverse-sweep tachometer with an inset clock alongside gauges for oil level, fuel level, oil pressure, engine temperature, and amperage. An aftermarket coolant gauge is fitted under the dashboard near the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter twin-cam inline-six is fed by twin SU carburetors.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the rusting battery boxes were treated with KBS Coatings rust-prevention sealant, and undercarriage rust is visible.
Spare parts are included in the sale along with manufacturer’s and enthusiast literature and repair manuals.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory configuration and colors along with chassis, engine, body, and gearbox numbers.
The data plate shows a chassis number of 679526. The car is titled by its engine number, W45098.
