    This a currently licenced and restored car which I owned from 1976 until 1983, having bought it from a Jaguar Drivers' Club member Giles Whittaker and sold it to a dealer friend who immediately resold it to Hugh Mccaig (Ecurie Ecosse). It was restored by Kenny Logan in the mid-1980s and has, to the best of my belief, been in good order since.
    I refurbished the car mechanically during the time I had it and carried out a substantial amount of body metal replacement but it really needed a full body restoration, which is why I sold it, having bought the Coombs 3.8 Mk 2 (231856DN) that I still have.
    It was purchased new by an elderly gentleman in the North East, whose address was simply "Cedar Grange, Sunderland" (I forgot his name) but it proved too much for him and he sold it after six months. The second owner was a gentleman who retired to Edinburgh and I spoke with him in the late 1970s. I think it had only four owners before me.
    I will endeavour to change the chassis number, which should be S804769DN, being an overdrive special equipment car with C Type head. It was black with red leather from new (it had never been repainted or reupholstered when I had it).
