Summary:
This roadster or open two seater is an excellent example that was the recipient of a high quality restoration in the early '90s. It is finished in attractive silver over black leather with red piping, and rolls on correct knock-off wire wheels that have been chromed. The look is extremely sporty, yet refined, and is further complimented by period Lucas driving lamps. The car has all newly rebuilt brakes, fresh fluids, and recently fitted Avon tires. With excellent panel fit, superb interior, glistening brightwork and great road manners, this XK 140 is ready to enjoy.

1955 JAGUAR XK 140

VIN 811137

This 1955 Jaguar XK140 roadster was the recipient of a high-quality restoration in the early '90s. It benefited from an up-rated 3.4-liter 190hp DOHC inline-6 engine with rack & pinion steering in place of the 120's recirculation ball system, along with even more robust safety bumpers and increased interior room. It is finished in Silver over a black leather interior with red piping and rolls on correct knock-off wire wheels that have been chromed. The look is further complemented by period Lucas driving lamps. Considered by many to be the ultimate XK, this XK140 blends the lines of the original 120 with some of the increased performance and improved real world usability found in the later 150, but not as stylish. From The Bill Barker Collection.

Powered by a 3.4-liter 190hp DOHC inline-6 engine and 5-speed manual transmission. Restored in the early '90s. Has rack & pinion steering, telescopic shock absorbers at all four corners, black leather interior with red piping and knock-off wire wheels.

Sold $79,200

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
