Comment taken from S675460 entry.

S675458 is in Kansas City, Missouri. Not in registry. In rough shape under a cover behind a car repair shop. Sad story with possible happy, but expensive last chapter. Original head, body, etc. Has 140 engine, G5720-8, which I believe is from a 56 140. Looks like car was originally red with a black interior. Wire wheels.
Plate says original engine was F2893-8S. Head matches engine number.

Car to be at auction 1/14
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Grandes Marques, Maastricht
Lot 122 - 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
Estimate: €85,000 - €105,000
Registration Number: EU Taxes Paid
Chassis Number: S675458

This LHD OTS was delivered new to the United States of America, where it has spent the majority of its life, before being bought to the United Kingdom for restoration. The car has been subject to a comprehensive restoration, including a complete, new interior, with new leather seats, new convertible soft top, new carpets and the lovely silver paintwork gleams in the light and with new red upholstery this car looks terrific.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
