Ebay item 1/22/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK120-SE-Convertible-1953-Jaguar-XK120-SE-Drophea ...
$10,100 reserve not met 8 bids, 6 days left in auction. 39k miles.

Sellers description:
Rare 1953 XK120 SE Drophead Coupe. Not to be confused with the much more common Roadster version, the Drophead had a more luxurious interior with wood dash and door trim, and wind up windows instead of side curtains.
Having never been restored, this XK120 SE is ready for a well deserved refurbishment. Recently, almost $9000 was spent on brakes, carburetors, cylinder head and fuel system. The engine is strong, and this car runs and drives.
The engine fires up quickly and runs smooth. The carbs have been rebuilt. The exhaust system needs replacement as it is quite loud.
The interior wood is complete and very solid. Seats are vinyl.
All gages are in good shape. Actual mileage is unknown.
The top frame is complete and functional. All latches are present and in working condition.
The body is fairly straight with only minor dents.
The door gaps are decent, but the doors need adjustment.
There is a dent in the right rear fender.
All the chrome and trim is present, with the exception of the trunk handle.
A correct spare and original jack are included.
The spare tire well floor is solid, except for the rear edge which has a bit of corrosion.
The right sill has some bondo. The left sill is excellent.
The doglegs, left and right, showing some rust.
The front chrome is nice, and the fit of the grill is excellent.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
