Car offered at:
www.fantasyjunction.com
Sellers description:
This particular car has been with one very long term California for most of its life. The owner was a mechanic and consequently the car is in very good mechanical order. It is best described as a very solid driver, or an ideal platform for and easy restoration to show standards.
The body is relatively straight with satisfactory gaps at the doors, trunk, and bonnet. The car has been repainted some years ago, but appears to have always been cream. The repaint was a reasonably good job, appropriate for the cars value at the time. There are some signs of aging, specifically, some cracking on the right door, but the overall appearance of the car is strong. The chrome looks to have been redone and is excellent all around with virtually no weathering or hazing. This example is still fitted with correct Lucas headlights and driving lights, along with a badge bar and headlight screens. The car is also retains its original 16-inch chrome wire wheels in outstanding condition. The windshield and side windows are in very good condition, as are the rear lenses. A black vinyl soft top is fitted, and the car comes with a matching interior tonneau.
The interior has also seen much refurbishment. The seats and dash have been re-trimmed in brown leather including door panels to match. The upholstery is extremely durable and shows almost no signs of use. The dash wood is in excellent, unmarked condition, and the car is fitted with its original gauges in good condition. Some of the toggle switches are aftermarket units, and a late model Sony radio has been fitted with speakers under the dash. The interior chrome is good throughout, and is probably original. The carpets look new, but are made of American fabric. A Moto-Lita wood wheel has been fitted.
The trunk has been trimmed in carpeting to match the interior, and looks very fresh.
The engine bay looks to be unrestored, but remains clean and tidy. The car has been converted to a Crane Cams electronic ignition. The often missing window washer bottle is present.
The underside is straight and solid and shows signs of much recent work done to the gearbox, drive shaft, fuel pump, and speedometer drive. There is some filler around the center section of the bumper. The battery box has been replaced. Part of the exhaust system is deteriorated and should be replaced.
This car could be driven as is with great enjoyment for the casual enthusiast, or would make an excellent platform for a restoration to show standards. With the car comes an owner`s manual, jack, hammer, and the spare wheel with tire.
