Car offered at:

www.postwarclassic.com/382723-1958-jaguar-xk150-3-4-litre-lhd-dhc

Seller's description:

1958 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Litre LHD DHC

Chassis number: S830331L

Registration Number: 9-OLD-150 (Belgium)

Under the current ownership since March of 1998; This car has recently after over two decades of light use been treated to a full & thorough restoration. Masses of bills from assorted speciaists come with the car attesting to the level of detail gone to, in order to put this car back to as new condition.

The paintwork is resplendent in new gunmetal grey metallic done to a very high standard. To the interior is brand new red leather along with matching red carpets & trim. A walnut centre dashboard panel has been installed deviating from the factory finish but adding a touch of opulence to the cabin as is very commonly done on these cars.

We arrived a little too early to photograph the car prior to its new roof being installed. This is needless to say a brand new lined mohair item of the highest quality. The car sits on brand new chrome wire wheels with knock off spinners.

A kenlowe fan has been installed to keep the engine cool in summer traffic. The engine bay as a whole is fully detailed & lovely to behold. A final polish & machine buff will be given to the twin cam engine to complete the restoration.

As one of 30 or so cars in the owners collection the car has seen sparing but regular use during his long tenure of it; mostly for summer motoring in Europe. Recent higher end purchases mean the car is now coming available for a lucky new owner.

But such is the quality of this fresh restoration that it may be purchased sight unseen with absolute confidence.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
