Sellers description:
1959 XK150 3.4 "S" Roadster. This car is numbers matching and comes with a Heritage certificate and a clear Florida title. This car is all complete except its missing the following items. Wiring harness, interior kit, carpet, front headlights, front turn signal lights, tool kit, tire jack, convertable top material, misc chrome interior door pieces. I purchased this car is 2004 as a restoration project. This car was a California car so it didnt have alot of rust but it did have some rust in the usual areas such as the D posts and sills. Also please look at the Jaguar Heritage certificate in one of the pictures below. I have had alot of work done to this car over the past couple of years. All of the parts that make this car complete will come in plastic boxes, the bumpers and convertable top frame will be put inside the car since they wont fit in boxes. This car currently runs and brakes. When you look at the pics in this listing you will see that the rear quarter panels are not on the the car, However in the next 2 days they will be installed on the car. I just had the body work done on them, and now they the body work is straight. I have been in the vintage Jaguar car business for 6 years and I specialize in the XK 120, 140 and xk150 S roadsters. So I'm very knowledable on how to get these cars back in shape. Im currently working on a 1950 xk120 alloy roadster so this The Jaguar factory made 999 of these xk150 roadsters making them rare and very collectable. I'm going to give a general description of the work I have had done to this car. It would take me forever to write every detail down on here. I have $91,000 in Restoration receipts for this car. Everthing that was done to this car was done by a profesional restoration shop and done to a high standard. The body was completly stripped to bare metal. Once that was done then wherever there was rust new metal was welded in those areas. As I stated earlier this car was pretty solid. Then I had the bodywork done. Then primer was applied. This car has had alot of block work done to all the panels, but the panels will need to have alot more blocking done before this car can be painted. The bonnet was aligned, and it opens and latches. The doors were aligned on the car, and they fit nicely. The decklid wood was completly redone. The decklid also was aligned, and it opens and latches. The chassis was sandblasted and then it was primed with a high quality primer. Then it was painted black and then cleared and then wet sanded and buffed. The chassis looks great. All of the mechanical components on the chassis were replaced such as shocks, bushings, brake pads, brake lines, fuel lines, gas tank, all of the rubber busings on the front end, lower ball joints, upper ball joints, steering rack was professionally rebuilt. tire rod ends, 2 SU fuel pumps, stainless steal exhaust system, brake booster, the rear posi was completly rebuilt from the inside out, rear leaf springs, gas tank, four new splined hubs, four new 60 spoke dayton wire wheels, 4 new tires, two brake resivor, slave cylinder. Also all of the original bees hardware was cleaned and reused on this car. Furthermore The 4 speed manual transmission with factory overdrive was completly rebuilt including a new clutch kit and a couple of new gears. The engine was professionally rebuilt here in tampa by an excellent mechanic who specializes in vintage Jaguars. The engine runs strong with no smoke and it has great oil pressure. The engine is the original engine that came with this car. The cylinder head and the cylinder block match. please look at pics below to see that. I had all of the aluminum that goes on the engine professionally polished to show standards. This engine is super quiet. The carburetors were also completly rebuilt using major rebuild kits. The radiator was recored and the generator and starter were all rebuilt. The cylinder head was also rebuilt. This car come with all of the exterior chrome, however some of the pieces have not been rechromed, but are good for a daily driver, but should be rechromed for a show car. Im going to list here what exterior chrome pieces have been rechromed. The front and rear bumpers including the bumperetts. exterior door handles. front bonnet grill, front bonnet grill badge holder. bonnet chrome strip. rear decklid badge holder. rear decklid license plate assembly surround. The exterior chrome items that i didnt mention have not been rechromed and are in daily driver condition. The convertible top frame has been professionally blasted and then painted the correct factory color. The rear spare tire tray has been completly redone to a high standard. Furthermore this car comes with a complete set of original gauges that work. The oil temp gauge was just recently rebuilt. This car comes with a set of seats that are correct for a xk150 roadster. These seats have been recovered recently and look nice. The interior of this 150 is all there except for the carpet and door panels and all of the interior chrome door pieces such as door knobs window knobs etc, these can be purchased new from Vintage Jaguar parts companies for not much money. The dash panels come with this car, however they will need to be recovered. This car comes with its original triplex windshield thats in great shape no cracks or chips. The door window glass is also original and in great shape. This car has a brand new steering wheel. The torsion was also set on this car. This car is set up to run by hooking up a wire to the starter solenoid and then pushing the starter solenoid and then she will crank over. I have two new 6 volt batteries installed with the correct style battery cables. So as you read above this car has underwent a major restoration. there isnt much work left to be done. As you know restoration costs keep going up so please dont miss this chance to get a rare car thats had alot of work already done to it.
