Ebay item 7/11/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK-1957-JAGUAR-XK150-ROADSTER-TRUE-BARN-FIND-ORIGINAL-PA ...
Current bid $9,100 reserve not met, 10 bids 9 days left in auction. 70k miles.

Sellers description:
1957 JAGUAR XK150 OTS FOR SALE. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN RESTORED AND STILL RETAINS THE ORIGINAL "MIST GRAY" PAINT, PARTIAL RED INTERIOR, ORIGINAL MATCHING ENGINE, 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH OVERDRIVE, AND BODY. THE ORIGINAL PAINT IS THIN AND WORN. THERE ARE NO BODY FILLERS OR PATCH PANELS. THE INTERIOR IS OUT AND THE FLOORS ARE EXPOSED. THE FRAME IS SOLID. THEREFORE, THIS XK IS A PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR A GROUND UP RESTORATION.

CHASSIS No : S830970DN
BODY No : F15971
ENGINE No : V4753-8
GEARBOX No: JLS41311JS

THIS AMAZING BARN FIND WAS PARKED IN A GARGAE FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS. IT WAS LAST REGISTERED IN GEORGIA IN 1994 (SEE LICENSE PLATE). THE PREVIOUS OWNER PURCHASED THE CAR FROM GEORGIA AND MOVED IT TO MARYLAND WITH THE INTENTION OF PERFORMING A COSMETIC RESTORATION. THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND DRIVING AT THE TIME. SADLY HE RECENTLY PASSED AWAY AND HE NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO RESTORE IT. WE PURCHASED THE CAR FROM HIS ESTATE. WE WERE TOLD THAT WHEN HE STARTED THE RESTORATION, HE HAD THE RADIATOR REMOVED TO BE BOILED AND CLEANED BUT NEVER SENT OUT. WE HAVE THE RADIATOR, COOLING FAN, PULLY, HOSES, ETC. (SEE PHOTO). THE SEATS, CARPETS, DASH CAP, ETC. WERE DROPPED OFF AT AN UPHOLSTERY SHOP TO BE RESTORED. UNFORTUNATELY, NO ONE KNOWS WERE THESE PARTS ARE CURRRENTLY LOCATED. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION TUNNEL IS MISSING. THERE MAYBE SOME OTHER SMALL PARTS MISSING.
EXTERIOR:

THE FRAME IS SOLID. THE BODY PANELS ARE SOLID FOR MOST PARTS. THE REAR QUARTER DOG LEG AREAS HAVE THE COMMON RUST. THERE ARE SOME MINOR PIN HOLES HERE AND THERE. THE BATTERY BOXES NEED REPLACEMENT. THE FRONT COWL AND INNER FENDERS ARE SOLID. PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS FOR LOCATION OF THE MINOR RUST. THE BUMPERS, GRILL,AND MISC. TRIM ARE IN NICE ORIGINAL CONDITION. THE WINDSHIELD AND SIDE GLASS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE TIRES ARE OLD BUT HOLD AIR.

INTERIOR:
THE DOOR PANELS ARE ORIGINAL AND EXCELLENT CONDITION. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE SEATS, OLD CARPETS, DASH PAD, ETC. WERE DROPPED OFF AT AN UPHOLSTERY SHOP. CURRENTLY THEY ARE MISSING AND NO ONE HAS A CLUE AS WHERE THEY ARE? THE ORIGINAL STEEL TOP FRAME IS IN EXCELLENT RUST-FREE CONDITION. IT FOLDS UP AND DOWN WITH EASE AND STILL RETAINS THE FRONT LATCHES. WE HAVE THE REAR METAL BAR THAT TIES THE BACK OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP TO THE BODY. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ORIGINAL STEERING ARE IN NICE ORIGINAL CONDITION.

MECHANICAL:
WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS XK WAS A RUNNING AND DRIVING CAR WHEN IT WAS PARKED 20 YEARS AGO. THERE IS SUFFICIENT OIL IN THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR. SEVERAL PRECAUTIONS HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO START A CAR THAT HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SO LONG. THE TRANSMISSION CAN BE SHIFTED THROUGH ALL GEARS. THE CLUTCH AND BRAKE PEDALS ARE INOP. THE BRAKE PARTS LIKE CALIPERS AND LINES ARE STILL ON THE CAR. THE CAR ROLLS WITH EASE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSPORTATION. WE HAVE THE RADIATOR, COOLING FAN, PULLY, HOSES, ETC.

ELECTRICAL:
THE TWO BATTERIES ARE MISSING. THEREFORE, WE HAVE NO FIRST HAND INFORMATION ABOUT THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. ALL FACTORY WIRING HARNESSES ARE STILL IN THE CAR AND APPEAR TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION.

TRUNK:
THE TRUNK LOOKS NICE AND ORIGINAL. THE ORIGINAL JACK AND THE HANDLE ARE STILL MOUNTED ON THE BACK OF THE FLOOR LID. THE SPARE TIRE AREA FLOOR IS RUSTY AND THE SPARE IS MISSING.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT:
THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LOOKS ORIGINAL, CLEAN BUT NOT DETAILED. THE FIREWALL, INNER FENDERS, AND THE RADIATOR SUPPORT ARE SOLID.

THIS VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD WITH A BILL OF SALE AND A CLEAR TITLE ISSUED BY THE STATE OF MARYLAND. WE WOULD LIKE TO INFORM YOU THAT THE TITLE SHOWS THE YEAR AS A "1956".

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
