This 1958 Jaguar XK150 is a fixed head coupe that was manufactured in January 1958 and reportedly delivered new to Vancouver, British Columbia. The car eventually made its way to Ottawa, Ontario, where the seller purchased it in November 2000. The seller moved to Victoria, British Columbia in summer 2002, and the car was then maintained, refurbished, and upgraded over the next 13 years by Steve Galloway at Greggs Marine Interiors Ltd. in Victoria. Power is provided by a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six, and a JT5 five-speed manual gearbox from Mediatronics in Florida was installed in 2006. The cylinder head was also overhauled that year, and the carburetors were rebuilt in 2010. The seller moved back to Ottawa in 2015, and the car has been driven little since. This XK150 is now offered with 18 years of service records and Ontario registration.
The car was prepped for a repaint in 2003, including removal of the glass, trim, and bumpers. Bodywork performed at that time included rust repair under the marker light on the left-front fender, as well as on top of the rear fenders where they meet the body. Per the seller, both marker lights were replaced and the mounts were modified so they would not retain water. The frame was also repaired. A repaint was then completed in early 2004 some pitting brightwork is present.
Additional work in 2003 included refurbishing the steering rack and overhauling the brakes. A new brake master servo unit was installed in 2006. Factory knock-off wire wheels show worn finish and wear Firestone tires. The full-sized spare wheel is mounted with a BFGoodrich Silvertown tire.
Red upholstery is complemented by color-matched door panels and carpets, as well as a red dash. Wear is showing on the seats and other interior surfaces, and the seller notes that the driver’s door is occasionally difficult to latch. Black carpeted mats are currently fitted.
Equipment for the driver includes a three-spoke steering wheel, black gear knob, and Smiths instrumentation. According to the seller, the five-digit odometer currently indicates just under 10,500 miles. The seller states that he added less than 5k miles, and total chassis mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six received a cylinder head overhaul in 2006, and the carburetors were rebuilt in 2010. A new wiring harness was fitted in 2003, and the fuel system was overhauled that same year. After the seller moved back to Ottawa in 2015, the car needed safety approval and had a number of items attended to. Per the seller, this Jaguar was regularly driven until summer 2015 and has been used sparingly since. An engine oil change was completed approximately four months ago, and included records cover the past 18+ years.
The JT5 five-speed manual gearbox was installed in 2006, as was a new fuel tank.
