Private Party Or Dealer: Dealer
This 1960 Jaguar XK150 SE 3.4 is a fixed-head coupe that was purchased by the current owner on November 4, 1965 from Brentwood Motors in Santa Monica, California, and it spent time in Florida, the District of Columbia, Michigan, and Indiana before its subsequent placement in storage in 1978. A refurbishment cosmetic and mechanical conducted over the course of 2002–2006 included a repaint of the red exterior, a refresh of the black interior, and an overhaul of the numbers-matching 3.4L inline-six and three-speed automatic transmission. The carburetors were serviced and the fuel system was flushed in preparation for the sale. This XK150 is offered on dealer consignment with factory literature, refurbishment photos, spare parts, award recognition, and a clean Indiana title.
The body was repainted in its current shade of red by Andy Mohr Automotive in Fishers, Indiana.
The car was equipped from the factory with a four-wheel disc brake system, and replacement 15” wire wheels are secured with two-earned knock-offs and fitted with period-style Michelin tires. A matching wheel and tire combination is stored within the trunk, and the removed wheels are included in the sale.
The black interior was retrimmed by Muncie Imports & Classics in Indiana and features seats clad in leather upholstery accompanied by matching door panels and interior trim. The storage bin adjacent to the steering wheel is lined in green carpet, and additional features include a polished ashtray, lap belts for the front occupants, and rear quarter pop-out vent windows.
Centralized Smiths instrumentation housed within an upholstered cluster includes a 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer as well as an ammeter and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer was reset at the time of the refurbishment and shows under 7k miles, with actual mileage unknown. Per the seller, the left-side turn signals operate intermittently and the tachometer and clock are inoperative.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was rated from the factory at 210 horsepower in SE specification. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission. The engine and transmission were reportedly rebuilt during the refurbishment, and work conducted in preparation for the sale included a general inspection, carburetor servicing, and fuel system flush.
Engine number V7133-9 is shown stamped in the cylinder head, as well as on the block. Both match the number listed on the corresponding body plate.
A fluid seep from the transmission is noted by the selling dealer. An assortment of used parts accompanies the car, along with factory literature and award recognition.
