Ebay item 1/29/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK-XK150-Drop-Head-Coupe-Jaguar-1958-XK150-Drop-Head-Cou ...
Current bid $5,400.00
Reserve price not met, 4 bids 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $42,500.

Sellers description:
This 1958 XK150 drop head coupe is a very sought after car. The car was fitted from the factory with the four speed overdrive gearbox and it is confirmed of this with DN on the chassis number. The chassis number is S837121DN. We believe this to be a matching number car, but we don't have a Heritage Certificate for it. The body and the frame are in super nice dry condition, which makes for an easier restoration. There is very little to no rust that can be found. The car is somewhat complete. The major expensive components are all there, what's missing that we can see is the door glass and frames, windscreen and some small bits. We do have the vent windows in a box. There is also a small box of misc. parts. The car is fitted with the 3.4 liter engine. The car steers and rolls easily, so it can be shipped. It is being sold needing total restoration.

The XK150 is restored (now in dark blue with red interior) and on Auction at Coys tomorrow:

www.coys.co.uk/cars/1958-jaguar-xk150-drop-head-coupe

This XK150 in rare drophead guize has been the subject to a recent 2 year restoration and is now presented in stunning overall condition. Matching numbers , it was purchased by the current vendor in Belgium in original condition.

It is said to be a pleasure to drive as the steering is light and precise and the car wafts along in 5th gear on the open road. Combining the wonderful looks of the XK with greatly improved practicality, this sensibly upgraded example is offered with a history file including some invoices and photographs, JDHT certificate, current road fund licence, MoT to December 2013 and Swansea V5C document. This XK would make an excellent candidate to participate, and would be a welcome guest in any worldwide concours event.

Seller's description:

Year of manufacture 1957

Chassis number S837121

Condition Restored

Interior colour Red

Exterior colour Blue

Gearbox Manual

Performance

193 PS / 142 kW / 191 BHP

The Condition or how it really is. Original, given a facelift or fully restored?

The XK 150 was first registered in the US and was shipped back to Europe a few years ago. The vehicle was then restored to the highest standard in specialist shops from ground up and now presents itself with a new car character. A one-year full warranty is included.

The Performance or what is it like to drive?

The XK 150 has, on the one hand, the typical British sports car genes and, on the other hand, also features such as a Grand Tourismo model. It can be moved athletically and yet has a comfortable suspension and comfortable seats that can seduce with plenty of seating comfort on a nice day for relaxed tours or cruises. As a 2 + 2-seater, it is even family friendly! You can still switch it quickly today and enjoy its athletic qualities. However, the maximum output of the long-stroke engine should not be permanently accessed to ensure a long life. Nevertheless, with the five-speed gearbox, considerable average speeds can be achieved in a manner that saves speed. In his condition and appearance, it is also suitable to enrich a collection attractive. With appropriate treatment and care, it certainly has a value appreciation potential!

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
