Text from old Ebay auction:
Engine I6
Miles 31807
Trans manual
VIN S387282DN
Auction ebay
Auction Date 13 Dec 2004
Interior green leather
No Sale @ Auction $40,600
# Bids 31
This particular example is a very solid, very correct, very original car. Finished in Sherwood Green with dark green leather and carpets and a correct tan cloth top and convertible top boot; fitted with chrome "knock-off" wire wheels, Lucas fog lamps and front wing-mounted rear-view mirrors. Engine # V-2680-8 The original twin cam, twin carburetor, 3.4 litre 6-cylinder engine has textbook-correct oil pressure and engine temperature and has just undergone a complete head rebuilding including: 6 new intake valves, 6 new exhaust valves, new valve seals and shims, new ignition wiring, choke thermoswitch, all tune-up parts, etc. The speedometer and tachometer were overhauled at the same time. Total cost of the operation was $7,067.04 and records are present with the car. The result is an engine which operates exactly as it should. The 4-speed manual gearbox is smooth and quiet and is fitted with its original electric overdrive. Brakes (original 4-wheel power-assisted disc) and suspension are excellent The undercarriage, chassis and body are amazingly solid, the paint is an older repaint which makes a very good appearance but many faded spots and touch-ups are apparent upon close examination. The engine compartment is not detailed for show but is very clean.correct and complete including the original windscreen washer bottle, ignition wiring conduit, etc. The leather is in very good condition as are the door panels, facia and gauges. The carpeting is a bit moth eaten and, although presentable, should be replaced to match the condition of the of rest of the car. The chrome appears to be all original and is in superb condition throughout -- the only missing piece is the horizontal section at the top of the windscreen. The boot compartment is very tidy with its original boot mat and hydraulic shock in excellent condition and the lower compartment is complete with spare chrome wire wheel and tire, tool roll, air pump, grease gun and wratchet all properly attached to the bottom of the access lid to that compartment. This is a true "survivor' of the XK-150 series and would be a great addition to a knowledgable collector's garage.
