Car to be at auciton 6/16
    www.auctionsamerica.com/events/feature-lots.cfm

    Auction description:
    1958 Jaguar XK 150S Roadster
    Lot No. 1054
To be offered on Saturday, June 25, 2016
    Estimate: $135,000 - $170,000

    Inline six-cylinder engine
    Manual transmission
    Triple carburetors, dual exhaust
    Knock-off wire wheels
    Black leather bucket seats
    Smiths gauges

This 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Roadster is presented in white with a black convertible top. The car rides on knock-off wire wheels which accent the rest of the car's brightwork beautifully. Under the hood one finds the heart of this Jaguar, an inline six-cylinder engine which is paired to a manual transmission. The purr of this Jaguar can be heard though it's dual exhaust. The interior of the car features black leather bucket seats and a gauge cluster that is centered on the dashboard, offering both occupants a view of the Smiths gauges. Completing the interior is a dash-mounted rearview mirror. A Jaguar badge on the trunk proudly displays Jaguar's Le Mans winning years.

Car to be at auction 11/16

    Auction description:
    1958 Jaguar XK 150S Roadster
To be offered on Saturday, November 5, 2016
    Estimate: $135,000 - $170,000

    3.4-liter, 250-hp six-cylinder engine
    Manual transmission with overdrive
    Triple SU carburetors
One of 888 reportedly built with this drivetrain
    JDHT Certificate
One of 1,466 XK 150S's built from 1958-1961
    Smiths instrumentation

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate included with the car lists this as being an XK 150S that is equipped with a 3.4-liter inline six-cylinder engine that reportedly produces 250-hp, and is connected to a manual transmission. The engine number on the certificate is VS 1690-9 which is matched to the block number which is also VS 1690-9. The cylinder head number on the Jaguar is VS 1675-9. This is 15 numbers off from the block number. Jaguar experts explain that a cylinder head was most likely put on out of order causing this difference in numbers. This was done because the XK 150S received a different cylinder head than a regular XK 150.

Originally the car was finished with Cream paint, Light Blue interior and a Fawn colored soft top. Today the paint is finished in Cream with a black interior and black soft top. The interior of the car features black leather bucket seats and a gauge cluster that is centered on the dashboard, offering both occupants a view of the Smiths gauges. Completing the interior is a dash-mounted rearview mirror. The car rides on knock-off wire wheels which accent the rest of the car's brightwork beautifully. From 1958-1961, only 1,466 special XK 150S units were built.
